FromSoftware has finally announced an Elden Ring Switch 2 release date Tarnished upon a star. FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment have finally announced a Switch 2 release date for Elden Ring. Elden Ring will be released on Switch 2 on 28th August, packaged as the Tarnished Edition. This includes the base game as well as Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. In addition, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will come with two new starting classes, all-new character armour and customisation options for Torrent. These new things are also being made available to buy on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Elden Ring was first released back in 2022, and quickly became a huge success for developer FromSoftware. Its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC followed, as did multiplayer spin-off Nightreign. Elden Ring was meant to make its Switch 2 debut last year, however its release was delayed to "allow time for performance adjustments". If you've not played Elden Ring yet and are thinking about picking it up on Switch 2, be sure to check out Eurogamer's original Elden Ring review from 2022, where Aoife Wilson called it "grandiose", "mysterious" and "a touch more welcoming" than FromSoftware's previous games. Elsewhere in news from the Lands Between, the Elden Ring movie adaptation is underway and set to arrive in theatres on 3rd March, 2028. Earlier this year, the cast for the Elden Ring film was announced, with Alien: Romulus and Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery actress Cailee Spaeny in a lead role. Other confirmed cast members include Ben Whishaw, Kit Connor, Peter Serafinowicz and Nick Offerman, to name a few. Allegedly, the upcoming film from Alex Garland and production company A24 has a budget "well over" $100m. Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S
