Singers celebrate SPB’s 80th birthday in Palakkad

Singers from Kerala paid tributes to legendary singer S.P. Balasubramanyam (SPB) on his 80th birthday on Thursday (June 4, 2026). They paid floral tributes to the singer at his statue under the banner of the Singers Association of Malayalam Movies (SAMAM), along with Swaralaya members. Swaralaya secretary T.R. Ajayan inaugurated the commemorative meeting that followed. SAMAM president Sudheep Kumar presided over the function. Singers Afsal, K.K. Nishad, Anvar Sadath and Sannidhanandan commemorated SPB. Swaralaya joint secretary P. Unnikrishnan, executive member C. Unnikrishnan spoke. SAMAM secretary Ravi Shankar welcomed the gathering, and executive member Manju Menon proposed a vote of thanks.
